Things have been pretty mum around here, at least in the college department, until this weekend, which explains the lack of updates. With a trip to Chapel Hill, a research paper, and an interview for one of my other colleges, there should be plenty to write about for a while.
Until then, I have some exciting news. I just found out today that I made finalist standing for the National Merit Scholarship. This is big for me because it means 1) I look better to the colleges who are still looking at my application, and 2) I might get free money.
Semifinalists were picked based on their PSAT scores, and then had to complete an application and write an essay. Right now, I’m 1 of about 15,000 who made it this far.
