I’m a seventeen-year-old senior in high school, living in a very rural town in North Carolina. I’m working my way through the college application process, and preparing for life on my own. This blog is about sharing my experiences, my triumphs and my stumbles. And maybe a few random rants.
‘Breaking the Plate’ comes from something my parents have always told me. That is, that they’re going to ‘break my plate’ when I leave, so I can’t come back. They say it jokingly, and I know I always have a spot at their dinner table, but the phrase represents the whole idea of leaving home.
